The Cemetery division is responsible for the maintenance of the City’s two cemeteries: Pinecrest Cemetery and the I.A. Banks Memorial Park. The Cemetery division provides services to both locations such as lawn and landscaping maintenance, trash and debris removal, string trimming of almost 10,000 headstones and markers, and irrigation staining prevention/removal.
The Cemetery division is responsible for all grave preparations and cremation services other than the Cremation itself which is not performed by the City. The division has the following responsibilities in regards to the preparation for funerals and/or burials:
  • Grave site identification and site excavation services
  • Preparation of casket lowering device
  • Canopy setup and chair arrangement to provide comfort to the deceased’s family and loved ones
  • Closing and covering of the grave site
The division can also be of assistance in identifying the location of specific gravesites for guests by using software dedicated to tracking gravesite locations at both cemeteries. They will also assist in escorting the guest to the gravesite for accurate identification with ease.
