The City of Lake Worth Beach will be closing their offices and all facilities on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. All City meetings and programing have been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. The City expects to resume normal business hours on Friday, October 11.

The Public Works Department consists of several Divisions that each play an important role in maintaining our public infrastructure and keeping our City facilities, parks, and roadways safe and clean for those who live, work, and play here.   Our responsibilities include: 

Administration: Manages the operational Divisions in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Facilities Maintenance: Maintains all City-owned facilities by performing carpentry, electrical, air conditioning, painting, plumbing, and ancillary functions.  Also administers outsourced service contracts, such as pest control, custodial, fire, and security protection.

Streets: Responsible for maintaining 116 miles of paved roads/alleys and 20+ miles of unpaved roads within the City limits.  Maintains sidewalks and signage throughout the City.

Fleet: Performs maintenance and repairs for all City-owned vehicles and equipment.  

Grounds: Provides exceptional grounds maintenance of the City’s parks, play grounds, public spaces, and rights of way.

Cemetery: Maintains the grounds at the City’s two cemeteries (Pinecrest Cemetery and I.A. Banks Memorial Park) as well as grave preparations and setups for both full burials and cremation services.

Solid Waste & Recycling: Provides full-service solid waste management to the residents of Lake Worth Beach which includes the collection of garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste. The Division also offers a full spectrum of services for commercial customers.
