MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMING TO LAKE WORTH BEACH Community Redevelopment Agency Receives Major New Funding

Lake Worth Beach, FL – The affordability crisis is something everyone is talking about of late and nowhere is that more apparent than in the housing sector. While South Florida has seen a red-hot real estate market now for some years, it has also faced a growing challenge in providing reasonably priced places to live for those who work in its communities and keep the region humming.

The City of Lake Worth Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is one of many local organizations in Palm Beach County which will receive 2026 Community Project Funding enacted by Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL House District-22). This major Federal grant of $850,000 will be allocated towards the CRA's ongoing Attainable Housing Project, which is focused on providing new housing opportunities for families and individuals earning less than 120% of the area median income.

"We at the Lake Worth Beach CRA are thrilled to receive this third round of funding for our critical affordable housing programs which continue to improve our diverse and welcoming city," said CRA Executive Director Joan Oliva. "The dedication that Congresswoman Frankel has shown to helping improve the City of Lake Worth Beach is truly appreciated."

The primary objective in which this award will be used for includes assistance to "buy-down" or reduce homeownership costs for those wanting to live in Lake Worth Beach. These new funds are in addition to $1,250,000 that were previously awarded to the Lake Worth Beach CRA in 2023 and 2024 which allowed for the start of the Attainable Housing Project.

Congresswoman Frankel will be holding a press conference in Lake Worth Beach on Monday March 2nd at 11:30am to discuss this new allocation of funding. More about the Lake Worth Beach CRA can be found at www.lakeworthbeachcra.org, on Facebook @LWCRA, or by calling their office at (561) 493-2550.
