City of Lake Worth Beach Partners with Beach Bucket Foundation to Promote Cleaner Shores
LAKE WORTH BEACH, Florida – The City of Lake Worth Beach is proud to announce a new partnership with the Beach Bucket Foundation to help keep our beautiful shoreline clean and encourage environmental stewardship among residents and visitors alike. As part of this collaborative effort, buckets will now be available at Lake Worth Beach for guests to use during their visits. These reusable buckets can be used to collect litter from the sand, helping to reduce pollution and protect local wildlife. The initiative is designed to empower the community to take part in preserving one of our city's most cherished natural resources.
To kickoff this partnership, the City of Lake Worth Beach organized a beach cleanup with city officials on the morning of September 6. More than100 people came to see the bucket stands be unveiled and participate in the two-hour beach cleanup where they collected more than 110 pounds of trash.
“We’re thrilled to join forces with the Beach Bucket Foundation,” said Lake Worth Beach Commissioner Anthony Segrich. “This simple but powerful program encourages everyone—whether they’re here for an hour or the entire day—to take an active role in keeping our beach clean. It’s a great reminder that small actions can have a big impact.”
The Beach Bucket Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Florida, provides custom-designed stations equipped with brightly colored buckets made from recycled materials. These stations serve as both a tool and a visual reminder of the importance of beach preservation.
“This partnership is all about community and conservation,” said Sarah Malega, Vice Mayor of Lake Worth Beach. “We’re giving people the tools to do good and making it easy for them to participate.”
The bucket stations are located near Lifeguard Stations 1 and 3. All visitors are encouraged to borrow a bucket, pick up any trash they see, and return the bucket once they’re done.
