The Program
A behind-the-scenes look at how Lake Worth Beach works
The Citizens Municipal Institute is a free 8-week program designed to connect residents with the people, places, and processes that keep the city running. Every Wednesday from August 12 through September 23, 2026, 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, you'll spend an hour with city leaders learning what your departments do, where they do it, and how to plug in.
Each session takes place at a different city location so you can see facilities first-hand — from the Water Plant training room to the Casino Ballroom to the City Library. Bring your questions; staff are there to answer them.
Meet City Leaders
Sit down with the Mayor, City Manager, department directors, and the public-safety chiefs who keep the city running.
Tour City Facilities
Step inside the Water Plant, Police Station, Casino Ballroom, City Library, and other city sites you usually only see from the outside.
Learn How City Services Work
Permits, plans, water conservation, solar power, recycling, library programs — see how each service is delivered.
Become More Informed & Engaged
Walk away with a clearer picture of how to navigate, contribute to, and make a difference in your community.
